I just used the hog towing last week when my filter basket failed. I did the 20.00 upgrade last fall when I bought the bike because I had a 99 ultra that had to be towed in Kentucky, the bill was almost 400.00 to tow (flatbed) about 75-80 miles nearest dealer. Last Sat eve I called hog and the tow svc was there in about 1-1/2 hr (kinda long wait but what can you do). With the 20.00 upgrade you get 2 tows per breakdown so it towed me home that night (about 5 miles) (I didnt want to tow to the dealer that night because it would be left sitting outside the service dept all night) and it paid for towing to the dealer the next day 30 miles, the dealer billed hog towing. If I would have been on a trip more than 100 miles away it would have also paid up to 1000.00 for a rental bike or car to get home. I was happy with the service when I think about it. It's tough to be happy with towing because the whole situation (new bike breaking down) puts you in a real bad mood. I will keep the towing and pay the extra 20.00 for the upgraded service I think it worth it after the 400.00 bill I had without it and needing it in the first 8-9 month of the new bikes life
Heres hopping that you will never need this HOG service but if you ever do, this will be the best $20 spent. I broke down & they paid for a $297 tow bill for me in 07 while on a road trip. Like any insurance its only worth anything when needed, so get a reliable company
I broke down last month ( fuel filter shell failure) in a rural part of Arkansas. I could not get cell service, but I got a local plumber to trailer my bike home. He charged me $100.00. I submitted the bill to HOG with an explaination and within 2 weeks I was reimbursed.
Just to make it clear.... Hog allows unlimited towing with the upgrade>? was told one per year on the dealer plan... any one????
have to make my move before the end of month

Bushy, did you read entire post? The dealer plan is the basic bottom line plan that does only permit one tow for year.
This is what you need to do: go to www.members.hog.com and register with your hog membership number. You can find the number on the plastic credit card looking card they send you after you bike a new bike or or join on your own. This will give you access to the members only area. Once in the members area, look for an article that describes the road side assistance program. It will explain the different plans and what they cover. If you pay $20.00 you can upgrade to the deluxe plan for unlimited tows per year with un limited miles, and they pay the tow bill in full.
I believe if you read carefully, the next level up from the Deluxe ($19.99) plan is the Utra package ($29.99). According to their EOB on the HOG site, the added benefits are up to $1000 reimbursement of travel and accomodation expenses if you breakdown (waranty parts) over 100 miles from YOUR RESIDENCE. They quote that all benefits offered for the Deluxe ($19.99) are honored when you choose to upgrade to the Ultra ($29.99) package. I would assume that includes the unlimited towing to the nearest HD dealership.
