Default What a Company!

First off, Harley Corp. got involved and called Garmin. Garmin had me call them and all is well. I received a new garmin, new handle bar mount and cables. Installed in 30 minutes and up and running. Harley did call Grand Rapids and remind them that they are part of Harley. NOt a seperate agency. Customer service is easy when you listen to the customer.. I am a Garmin fan for ever. They told me they would take care of me.. and they did... I received my new unit over night. Yes I do have four holes in my fairing... I will be taking care of that this winter.. I am going to purchase another black liner (inner fairing) take it to a painter that will match my existing color and paint it... I'm in like flint... Hope everyone is having a great riding season. 09 purchased Mar, now has 14k and going strong.. Same set of tires, wear bars are close to showing... Ride safe.

just curious, as i'm considering a gps mount also. wouldn't an el-cheapo nylon tie that went around the gps itself and the mount have maybe prevented it from falling out of the mount?

Default GPS Falling off

Hi, I had the same trouble with the fairing mount. It would click on and pull right off with little or no effort. HD was not very much help since i pieced the system together using a HD cradle and hot shoe and purchasing a garmin Quest II on ebay. So what I did to resolve the issue was to take the cradle apart a replaced the spring that ( makes it click into place) with a stifer one. Just make sure the circumferance is the same and it will not fall out. Very simple fix, had no problem since. I hope this helps.
