Thats weird because I dont think I have heard (on this forum) of any 08' ECU's taking a crap like that. I would have bet dollars to donuts that it was the fuel filter canister. Did the service manager give you any idea of what went wrong with the ECU, or what may have caused to to go bad?
While your bike is in the service dept, you should ask them to run your VIN to see if your included in the recall for the fuel filter canister replacement....unless you have had it done already.
Ask the service manager to do a biker down parts locator they will take a part from a production model and send it out ,Harley use to do it I dont know if they still do
