Hello Everyone,
I just got my Road Glide. I did get the manual - but it is in the car of the person who gave me a lift to the dealship. So I wont get it till later.
I took the riders edge class in which we used Buell Blast bikes. We had to turn the fuel valve on and off during the class.
QUESTION:
Does the Road Glide have a fuel Valve and if so - where is it? I have looked it over pretty good, but do not see it.
As said, fuel injected bikes do not have a valve. This also means that you have to watch your fuel gauge as there is no reserve like you have with a carbed bike with a valve to switch to the reserve. Your fuel gauge will have a gas can light up when you are in the "reserve" and start looking for a station
MY RGs fuel light goes on around 170 miles, very early. The farthest i have ridden without filling is 211 miles and i only put 5.1 gals in my 6 gallon tank. I swear it is still calibrated for the old 5 gallon tank. Fill her up a couple times once the light is on and you will get a feel for how much gas is used. Your fuel mileage will get better as it is broken in. Oh no fuel valve on the EFI bikes. Good luck with your new bike enjoy the road.

Actually its lat by .1 gal. Its supposed to come on with 1 gal (ok approx) left in the tank. My 5 gal tank lite comes on at 4 gal.
As most of us with RGs already know, the fual gauge is pretty much a joke. Not accurate at all. Slow first half, fast second half. At least this is my experience. I'm getting around 40 mpg so I get serious about gas at around 160. Of course, I have the tiny 5 gal tank! LOL
With the 08's and 6 gallon tank I noticed that you have to pump slow and hold the nozzle a little above the hole or it will constantly shut off. Most people aren't filling the tank to capacity
