Congrats, if my Sportster would have been rubber mount I never would have gotten rid of it. Nothing wrong with getting the legs strong, but IMHO stop thinking that way. Riding is about balance and proper technique. This is why you see small guys riding 800 pound Gold wings. Ride on brother...

Hey congrats! Enjoy, keep your head up and your back straight. Don't look down! Look where you want the bike to go. Practice your figure 8's your circles and soon enough you will be out handling the Sporty.

Thanks for all the input and good advice on joining the bagger world from all you guys. Just finished another trip up into the thumb area of Michigan. Camped out with the wife. Couldn't believe how much stuff it could carry. Loading the bike up was a learning experience. Heavy stuffs got to be down low in the bags. Air shocks were invaluable. Having a radio for long boring stretch's was nice but, not really necessary. Like the cruise control to rest the hands. Different than the friction hold on the sporty. Wife sits back there like a queen on her throne. She can't wait til the next time out. I brought the backrest forward to give me a little more support and it gave the queen more room on her side of the seat. A real plus adjustment. Found an el cheapo cup holder for the handlebars. Riding in style. Still with a smile. Should have done the bike change a lot sooner. Can't believe that we both rode the sporty (2 up) for as long as we did. Got on it the other day and, it didn't feel right. Just isin't like it used to be. Want that roadglide under me. Not too crazy about the fairing cover and how it mates up with the main body of the bike. With the cooler weather coming, am planning to get some lowers to block more of the wind and rain. Carry on.

When you spend a lot of time on a bike and use it for everyday stuff, baggers are a great way to go. I've had two and love 'em.
