Sweeping interchange. Speed limit 55. Take it at 70 (very reasonable dry pavement speed) with a good lean. Small gust of wind or a bump and it will feel like you're riding on grooved concrete. Or as another post said, like the rear tire is following a groove. It's not a good feeling. Probably won't dump you, but when you're in a precise sweeping turn and the bike gets mushy under you, it's not cool. Steel grate bridges and grooved concrete never bother me. I think those are kind of interesting, actually. But the wobble is NOT cool.

I haven't seen it on my RK. I go 2up on a long sweeping backroad that you can see for about 1/2 mile on each side almost everyday. I usually get through there about 90-110mph with a slight left lean all the way and my bike is rock solid. I'm sure this issue is real but thankfully I don't see it.

Well my 08 SG (Yaw know the one, the pretty copper and vivid black, LOL) and I have taken many long sweeping 70mph cruise control one-handed turns, both right and left, I luckily have never experienced the dreaded and most talked about wobble.

Cross wind, head wind, tail wind, updraft, downdraft, thunderstorms with hail. Good to just read about an issue and not have experienced it.

Maybe that loud ZZ Top music I play is like a Gyroscope and keeps me from wobbling???LOL

This probably has no relevance, Got lazy and allowed the indy to do the R&R on the rear wheel for my last tire. Had the need for speed so I opened it up on the back road on my way home at somewhere over 100 it started what I call the death wobble. Slowed it down and it straitened out. Didn't think much about it until I put the bike up on the jack to change the oil. While rolling the tire I heired the belt squeaking. Best I can tell, The idiots must have not held the shaft while tightening the axle nut, belt was loose and tire was tracking to the right. Fixed the problem and about 600 miles later we had one of those stair downs that we wait to see who is going to be the rabbit, And Their Off! No wobble that time. This is probably not the infamies "Wobble" Just a reference to watch out for the idiot wrenches.

After reading these posts I'm beginning the think that suspension has a lot to do with this condition. The RK Customs, Street Glides, and if I'm not mistaken Screamin' RK's share the same stock low profile rear shocks. "Wobble", "shimmy", "overshoot" all basically mean that through its range of travel, the suspension is "out-of-sync" and the swing arm is no longer near parallel with the road. My RK Custom has shorter than HD stock low profile Progressive shocks so my rear is very snug. Now I'm not saying this is the answer, just don't see many RK's ans SG's with the problem. I guess having my bike lowered was a lot cheaper (and better looking) than spending all that cabbage on a stab. kit.

Harley have mounted the motor gearbox and swing arm together like the old Norton Commando. The Norton had a Isolastic engine mounts with a shimming arrangement that would let the motor up and down but not sideways . Harley has 3 rubber engine mounts with the two front mounts held with stabilizer links and the rear mount with nothing thats why the frame will flex at the back wheel. The bagger brace str8 twr will stop the rear rubber mounts from flexing.

I have an '87 FLT, replaced the swingarm and all that after seizing a wheelbearing in '91. I've never felt it, but don't push that hard either, though late for a date, I did ride all the way across South Dakota at 80-85 with about a steady 30 mph cross wind and never felt anything but good. Would it be safe to assume mine doesn't have it (for most practical purposes)?

I keep telling myself I'm going to quit replying to these wobble threads so I thought I would just do a cut and paste from a thread I replied to in August.

"I was one of the skeptics when the stabilizers first started showing up because I didn't have the wobbles or so I thought. Just because you don't have the tank slapper doesn't mean this won't benefit you, it will.

I first started thinking about these when I was checking out my bike for suspension damage immediately after a crash (my fault) in the Ozarks this past May. We got back to a gas station and I was sitting on my bike shaking the handlebars back and forth very hard and could feel the rear end shaking back and forth and thought WTF, this doesn't feel right. We tried the same thing on a couple of the other baggers in the group and found they did the same thing so I guess it's normal, and it is but it sure doesn't seem right. Try it on your bike and you'll see what I mean. It's the rear of your motor moving laterally. Mine no longer does this.

Fast forward, I put over 300 miles on the Bagger Brace this weekend and for what I felt it did for my bike it's under priced compared to some of the other things I've spent $300 on. This has improved all aspects of the way this bike feels from low speed corning to the twisties. as others have said "it tracks like it's on rails". Another benefit is it's not near as squirrelly in the wind. This is the way it should come from the factory.

I'm not trying to push one stabilizer over another as I believe they all do pretty much the same thing. I bought the Bagger Brace on an impulse simply because I wouldn't have to remove the exhaust to install it and the price was right. I think my impulsiveness payed off this time because in my opinion this is a very sturdy piece and I believe it's well engineered. The customer service provided by Ron and his group is second to none.

You do need to make sure your brace is flat, mine wasn't and I had to do a little tweaking. I don't have an issue with the jack as mine lifts just in front of the brace.

I've spent a good deal of money upgrading my shocks and forks with Works Performance products and this is the frosting on the cake, I personally would never consider not having it".
