My service manual (1995 DYNA Convertible) states to prop the bike up VERTICAL and fill the primary until it runs out the derby cover hole ... I never measured the amount of fluid ... but I bet H-D is in the BALLPARK with their estimate in Fluid ounces ...

+1 First time I changed mine I measured it out and this is exactly where it came, like the book shows. No need to measure anymore!
