Me too. I just ordered my second one (the one mentioned above was stolen out of my truck) from amazon.com for 399 & free shipping. I don't really need the bluetooth since I don't have helmet speakers, and a ram suction cup mount for the car is a lot less than the extra cost of a 550.
I have the Zumo 550. My biggest reason for buying it...... I can plan my trip at home on my PC, download it to the Zumo then let it tell me when a turn is coming. The nuvi's do not let you do that. I rarely ride interstate or state hwys. My preference is for the back roads and twisties. Now I no long need to keep a watch for the street signs as the Zumo gives me plenty of heads up for that little side road I want to take on my way to the final destination.
I have a Zumo 450. I wouldn't think of a road trip without it now that I've used it for several months.
If you doing any touring it's almost a necessity IMHO
I have the Zumo 550 and I love it - I just wish it were a little smaller and you could slip it into a pant pocket. I'm looking at the options on the newest GPS', and I like the new feature that some are offering that lets you put in a series of stops and plots the fastest route (my wife is in real estate so this would be real handy for her). I'm wondering if Garmin can make this a simple program change for the Zumo's or if we'll have to upgrade to the Garmin 650(!)? I'm sure it'll be the latter.
Bought it a month ago from a trusted Ebay store for $550 new. I had a 10% off coupon from Ebay.
I also have the XM antenna. Bought it used on Ebay for $110. The Kuryakyn mount cost another $100.
So, I have a total of $760 into my unit. Would I do it again? In an instant.
Just used it in a weekend trip. I was the road captain for 2 other guys. All they had to do was follow me. I had the route planned and loaded. One guy could only go 100 miles on a tank so finding gas was important. The Zumo worked great for that.
We also had a couple side trips planned off the main highway. Getting there was simple. On the last leg, my buddy wanted to eat at a buffet and play a little blackjack. Found a Casino in a minute and set out course. Once again, the Zumo came through.
Besides the XM, My zumo also has a SD card with hundreds of songs loaded. I don't use my iPod anymore.
Most of the Garmin products moved to flash based memory in recent years. This increased the life of the units significantly. There are no moving parts within the unit, so vibration has little effect on the unit. I have a Magellan Crossover, but only chose it because it was half the price. I've been running a Garmin Edge 305 on my mountain bike for almost 4 years with absolutely no problems. Anything they say is rugged is exactly that.
I have the Zumo 550 and there seems to be a serious problem with it. It seems to like my wife's car because every time I go to ride, it's in there taking a nap. 8 D
