Be interested in what you think of them running torque cones but no baffles. I had good results doing that on an evo which I think needs more back pressure than a TC.

A little decel popping is not hurting anything. And it does sound good.

Yeah, the torque cones will be the next experiment, but it'll probably be a few months though. The less time I spend turning wrenches in my garage in this San Antonio heat the better!
It should take a lot less time to just throw in some torque cones. Even though it's only been a few days I already miss the unbaffled rumble... I'm talking myself into doing this sooner than I thought....

My drag pipes work fine with just power cones(torque cones). I have the 103" engine and the pipes are only 1-5/8" ID. The smaller ID drag pipes work better.

One cheap trick you can try is putting lollipops in the pipes. Bolt them in at the baffle attach holes. There is a good write up in the sticky part of the "Exhaust Section" on "how to with Drag Pipes". It tells you how to make up the lollipops. You can also just put a long bolt in the hole where the baffles attach. The bolt should span across the ID of the pipe. Use a nut on the inside to hold the bolt in place. This alone will give you back some back pressure to help in low and mid range torque.
