Default Jacking an Ultra

So when you jack up your Ultra, where do you position the jack in order to get the bike to raise evenly? I have a Sears yellow jack and can't seem to find the right spot. If I place the rear jack rail in front of the frame cross member, the front wheel lifts and the rear stays planted. If I place the rail "in" the cross member, the rear wheel lifts and the front stays planted.

Will the cross member flange bend if I use it as a lift point? I'm just trying to avoid doing that.

Are there jacks with wider platforms? (J&S jacks?)

Thanks

Not to worry, the cross member isn't going to bend. Just experiment until you find that "sweet spot" where both wheels come off the ground at the same time.
