Default Billy B's HQ 103" install on 105th Ann. Ultra--PICS

Billy B. is Pirateeye's (Kevin's) dad and, along with Kevin. PhilM, Dalton, Buttman, et al., rode 5000 miles in 10 days on a bike trip to Flagstaff, Tombstone, etc. from Metro Atlanta. I guess riding with all of those Head-Quarters performance builds got to Billy 'cause he ordered a Head-Quarters 103" (10.5:1, 575 cams) Sport Touring kit for his '08 105th Anniversary Ultra. Last week-end, Billy brought his bike to Kevin's home garage for the installation. Here are a few pics:

Kevin and his dad did the teardown on Friday evening, and began assembly Friday night. The assembly was completed mid-afternoon Saturday.

Kevin used a DTT Twin Scan II+ and SERT to tune the bike Saturday afternoon and provide his dad with a good tune for break-in. His dad will ride the bike for 100-200 miles or so and return for further tuning--his dad needed to get home Saturday evening. Using the SERT software's hp/tq caluculator, the bike made 102 hp/122 ft. lbs tq. with SE a/c and stock exhaust headers and V&H slip-ons. His dad called me Sunday to let me know he loved the new package and that it's fast as hell.

For me, I spent Saturday in Kevin's garage giving my bike a good cleaning, particularly the chrome, after riding to Sandbridge Beach, VA for a beach week vacation, but enjoying Kevin and his dad working together on Billy's bike--very cool to see them together.

I need to do some riding now, but I'll post some more pics later today or tomorrow. If you want to know how these performance builds did on the 5000 mile trip (all delivered 40+mpg) you can read about it here:

http://www.head-quarters-usa.com/ushome.html

And Dalton and PhilM posted threads with pics of the trip, also.

Let me get my funds together and that'll be just fine. I'm hoping someone in here .....*cough* PhilM *cough* will also be able to "back me up" as well. We do have a Starbucks in town.

rock92--IIRC, the HQ 103" kits use a flat top piston as shown. The 113" and 120" kits use a reverse dish piston. I'm not familiar enough with HQ's kits to know if and when they may use a domed piston.

DADAWG--It was a top end build only. Given his dad's riding style, they are staying with the stock clutch set-up and bottom end.

Darren, I will swing out and help either way but would be great to meet the engine master Phil. I think I have made up my mind to go with this package right off the bat, want to get a 1000 miles atleast on the new UC, then find the right pipe then HQ 103, with 575 cams, not sure what tuner yet but leaning toward the Super SERT. Let me know, I can get to your location on a nice two day ride or Iron Butt it.
