I have an 2005 EG Classic, only 14000 miles on it and I am having problems with the CD player. Worked fine last 2 riding seasons, but not skips all the time...checked discs in other players...discs are fine.
Anyone else have this problem and what do you think of Biketronics Sony replacement radios?
Try one of those CD laser cleaning discs in the headunit--my buddy used one made by Phillips (purchased at Walmart for about $10 IIRC) and it solved his CD skipping problem.
I have a Biketroinics interface unit (for handlebar controls of the headunit) and Sony GT 510 headunit in my '04 EG and everything works great. Check out their Retro Radio kit. The Biketronics interface unit includes an Automatic Volume Control feature that they patented (appartently)--the Hawg-Wired interface unit is also excellent but doesn't have AVC.
