If you are using the JBL or infinity speakers in your bike You might want to check the surrounds for damage. These speakers do not have a front mounting surface. This allows the surround to contact the fairing cutout and will wear through the surround. Mine were 8 months old. Pics attached.

Took a ride after installing my new speakers (JL Audio TR525-CXI). May have lost a little volume due to changing to 4 ohm but not that noticable. At least they are not rattling. Next move is the amp Arc mini or hawg wired DCS1202. Leaning toward the 1202 for simplicity (plug n play).

Just got off the phone with firecap. Great guy and answered all my questions. I guess I will be cruising to Jl's pushed by ARC power. I bet that will get my efficiency back.

radridd, found your post on the speaker surrounds on the jbl's. i just installed a pair on my 07 e/glide. i assume you are referring to the foam rubber around the speaker wears through on the speaker spacer between speaker and fairing, is that correct? i cant see the detail on the pic. do you have a solution? i like the sound they have but dont want to have to replace again if i can prevent damage. i made a mistake installing mine and found they are more thin at the mounting holes and the screws bottom out and twist off. i wonder if that is what caused your problem? any advice would be appreciated

I reported this last month. You either have to space them back, or get your dremil out and modify the plastic Harley speaker mount.
