I just got my Streetpilot 2820 kit to wire to my '08 FLHRCi and I wanted to hook it into the spare left switch (the oposite that powers the front lamps). I thought I had read somewhere that there was an extra feed/input down by the battery that this left switch powered.
I just took off the set, ECM, and covers, I'm at the battery, even see another wire with a 7.5amp fuse on it, but I can't find where the wire terminates or where I could wire the GPS power to.
Any assistance of where to look I would love. I would much rather run the power off the switch instead of hard wiring to the battery.
There is a 4 pin deutsch connector in the v-shaped hollow between the battery and the gas tank. You still need the mating connector with wire running to your device. It is on the accessory circuit, so the ignition has to be switched on (or to accessory) and the accessory switch on the fairing cap has to be on.
