Default steering won't unlock

Hi, my 04 rdking the steering won't unlock. tried my spare key, 2 guys trying, one turning the bars other fidling with the key, no luck wont begin to turn. Always worked good before. Sprayed silcone spay in the lock and under wherever possible. help please I was going on a ride today. ES

weird problem check for any thing binding where the lock system meets the forks I bet some thing is in that part of the system

still wont budge, taking headlight apart to see if I can see something from there. thanx r

Finally got it, tapped the key lightly with a hammer while trying to turn the key and it broke free. Good thing I took the headlight out because thats where the steering grease nipple was, things happen for strange reasons.

They had a recall on the neck locking mech., but I do not rmember which year. You could check with dealer with your vin #

I have heard that WD40 and then blow some air with a compressor works good.

Really doesn't hurt to lube all the mechanical parts occasionally. If you live near the ocean or ride on dirt roads, its more important. Silicone spray is cheep and won't collect dirt as easily as oil sprays
