I know it's not your question but I don't see the hassle of having a spare set of glasses for when it gets dark. I wear Wiley-X. One dark pair for daytime, 90% of my riding, and a spare with yellow lenses for night/morning. Hell, it's not like my Ultra doesn't have a place to keep them.

+2 on Panoptix. I bought a pair of the Boras and I love 'em.

Like many of the other respondents, I've never been satisfied with transition lenses. I just gave up and use a day set and night set.

A GOOD! thread

I have worn glasses for over 60 years wore dark glasses all through me teens and 20"s way cool--so I thought--I now have bad night vision, but that said I have had problems with Transitions lenses, they are temperature sensative and do not chage as quickly as the TV commerials show----I bought a pair of glasses in Rio Brazil and had them coated with the old fashioned Photo Gray, black in the sun, clear inside the house, perfect --now need new glasses and cannot find any lab that does this any more

Went on the web for Military sun glasses and found many options for wrap around frames with "inserts" currently looking in to this, means carrying another pair of glasses for night but I have always had 2 pair on hand

I have two pairs of Wiley-X. The first pair I bought had the transition lenses and they are nowhere near dark enough for my sensitive eyes (blonde hair, blue eyes) in the Georgia sun. I bought another pair with polarized mirror blue lenses and they are awesome. I use the transition lenses for low light conditions now (night, rain, etc.) and will change them over to yellow lenses when I get a new prescription.

I also tried a pair of transitional lenses on my regular eyeglasses with the same result. I took them back and got plain lenses put in them.

I just keep two paire of glasses. one cheap( $10 ) dark glasses for daytime/bright sun and a amber pair for night time. I find that the amber really brightens things up at night. I keep the pair that i don't have on my mug in the windshield bag in an old sock.

Wiley x slyde from Optics Planet. Transitions Rx with a gray 1 dip. They get darker in the daytime than regular transitions and are real clear at night.
