I do the same thing...I'm cheap. I buy $3.50 KD's one blue lens for day and keep a yellow lense pair in my vest which I've put velcro on the inside pocket.

You guys are right the transitions are not dark enough in the sunshine and don't lighten up enough at night.

I use the dark shades during the day and amber shades at night.

I have Wiley-X frames with transition lenses and my tri-focal prescription! I love them. Yeah, I've had sunglasses that were darker, but they were not as comfortable as these are. I havfe absolutely zero problems seeing at night with these on. With the tri-focal prescription, they were pricey. Over $400.00 But it was the best damn $400 bucks I've spent in my 50 short years.
