Just ordered the lowers for my RG today and was looking over the instructions. It says to remove air baffle from lower triple clamp for improved airflow and rider comfort. Anybody left this on? I had it on my 03 ultra with lowers and never noticed any problems, but the RG is new to me.
Second question is the on the glove boxes. Of course they dont come with the 600 lowers I just ordered, they are 320 extra. Any luck gettting these from another source?
Last question, Hoppe vents. I had them on the ultra before HD started making them standard. They do not come on the RG lowers, anyone installed them? Do they fit okay?
I have to say the RGs on here that I have seen with lowers look sweet. Cant waint to get those on there.
I left my baffel on and I get lots of airflow. Matter of fact HD has it in Chrome.
As for the vents I didn't like the ones from Hoppe. I did find some from "Classic Motorcycle Air Vents" That I like better. Here is the linkwww.classicmotorcycleairvents.com
I found them on E-Bay
I just (today!) got in my vented lower fairing for an FLHTC from www.surdyke.com. It came with the glove boxes and their covers (same as when I ordered a set in '05.)
The catalog says glove box doors sold separately, but that means the locking doors; the snap-closed covers come with it.
