Same here. I get 120 miles on 1/2 tank. Then like 50 on the other half till the stupid light comes on. As above I have to fill up at like 180 miles on the tank. It takes 4.3 gallons to fill up the 5.2 gallon tank.

Yur 100% right. Logic prevails. I've never had a cage that has had a guage that is linear either and the tanks are usually square shaped.

The range feature on the 08's is actually pretty accurate. I notice that when it's about on 'E' i still have 1.5 gallons left and the range says about 60-70 miles left.

I wish the second half tank of gas lasted as long as the 1st according to the gauge. I get about 180 miles to the tank here

No clue what the new ones are like, but the one on my 20 yr old glide looks like HD stole a bunch of floats from a local plumbing supply house that you would use in an everyday toilet !

Damn thing is accurate though and still working fine after all these yrs.

The fuel range function is probably the most accurate. Personally I use the one of the trip-odometers and at 200 miles I have about one gallon of gas left and about 40 miles before empty. I haven't gone past 200 miles before filling up and have never ran out.
