Default ROLL CALL: whats biking music to you?

Just curious as to what you guys like to listen to when you ride.

I was 16 in 1981, and had a shaved head and wore engineer boots and listened to punk rock. Funny thing is, im in my 40s now, I shaved my head again, and wear engineer harley boots. Hard to be "punk" anymore with 2 kids, a wife and a job. I just like how the wind feels over a bald head and save $$ on haircuts

I like old punk, and a little bit of new. its good biking music to me. Stuff most of you guys wouldnt probably like or recognize

I was raised on the classic stuff, and listen to that most of the time too: Led Zeppelin, the beatles, Bob Seger, Skynard etc.

Very LIttle country, although theres nothing better than a long stretch of road and listening to Johnny Cash and Dwight Yoakam. It just fits.

so whats in your bike or ipod?

I like to start every ride with "Won't Get Fooled Again" by the Who. Then I like Paul McCartney and Wings greatest hits, some Johny Cash, Credence Clearwater Revival, Beatles and The Mamas and Poppas. I also like The Lovin Spoonful.

You can barely tell that I grew up in the sixty's.

I'm a metalhead. When I ride, the Ipod is always shuffling through some favorites.

The sound of that beautiful V-Twin is music enough for my ears!!! But seriously, if I did listen to music while riding it would be Pat Metheney or that song by the Byrds "Wasn't Born to Follow". You can hear it when Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper meet the two girls from the commune and give them a ride in "Easy Rider". Of course Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild" is always a classic...Grateful Dead...my list keeps growing! I have not tried listening to music while riding cause I really am afraid of the distraction.

What ever I'm in the mood for. I like the 90's alternative, 70's rock and country from most decades are my favorite. Also newer stuff from different genera. I'm 29.

Amen to that! The who is one of my favorites. For my money, "who's next" is one of the top 5 best albums ever made. That whole album reeks of great harley music. I have that on the start of a ton or rides myself.
Ghostie mentioned Stevie Ray Vaughn. I Hail to hendrix, but SRV did a better job of Little wing than hendrix IMO. Thats another great one.
