The seat strap is the first thing to go. I add a back rest for passengers.

+1 on this as my first "mod". Strap is useless and gets in way of essential adjustable backrest.
Strap can be adapted for use as a device to hang stuff up in the garage .
Of course now I have two since adding the tallboy seat!

Really simple to do. Two bolts and a philips screw.

1. Remove your saddlebags.
2. Remove the screw holding the left side of the strap.
3. Unbolt the front saddlebag bracket on each side (you might want to mark the locations/angle with a small strip of tape first to help you line them back up).
4. Toss the strap into a box (that you can throw out next Spring).
5. Re-install brackets and saddlebag.

Ditch the bitch. (the strap, not the wife) Too much of a PITA when you need to take off the seat for whatever reason.

I swap out seats way too much to fart around with the strap, remove it, no biggie.

Remove seat strap and reflectors are the first thing I do when I ride a new one home.

I removed the strap. Very easy to remove so don't cut it.

I removed my seat strap the first time I had to take the seat off. Left it off. Added a "Detachable Seat Hardware Kit." Makes servicing and tinkering much easier and less likely to scratch fender with a screw driver.

Never heard of anyone using that.

If you don't want it, dump it. You won't miss it.
