Took off my strap and replaced it with a passenger grab rail (see photo). The grab rail came off my '03 Ultra and I had planned on selling it on eBay. For some reason though I kept it thinking I might add it to my '08. Glad I did. It looks better too!

Yup, I took it of too. I swapped out the stock seat for a Mustang and couldn't get the strap back on so I said fuggitt.

Mine dissappeared before it's first trip out of my garage. Take the time to unscrew it - it can be reinstalled when you sell it if necessary.

Yea, do not cut it!! Take the time to find the tools and properly remove it. I see way too many bikes with cut straps riding around. It is crappy and is **** poor ownership. If you don't want seat belts in your vehicle....would you just cut them out with a knife? I hope not.

I recently visited a fairly new Honda dealership in my town....and they had a used 2008 Street Glide for sale. Anyways, I quickly noticed the cut strap and a "Honda of Russellville" decal on the rear fender of the bike. Lets see here...Would I buy a Harley with a cut strap and the same bike with a "Honda" sticker on the fender. Those two items made a nice bike into a really crappy bike really quick.

If the previous owner was dumb and took the easy way out to remove the strap...quiet possibly he/she took other easy way outs reguarding maintenance.

Just don't CUT it folks
