As we were riding yesterday the passenger backrest failed and came loose! Luckily we were turning a corner and were at low speed. I have the adjustable passenger pegs on with the floorboards and they are the only reason my wife didnt go off the back. Upon looking at it after calming her down the rubber gromets that the front part of the backrest go into had broke and allowed the backrest to rotate back. CHECK YOUR MOUNTING POINTS ON A REGULAR BASIS IF THEY ARE DRY GET NEW ONES!!!!
We were lucky and I would hate for one of you to have a worse outcome. I am fabricating braces that go from the backrest to the removable tour pak mounting points so this cannot happen again.
Are we sure this is in the right section? I don't know of any rubber grommets or tourpacks that mount to a VRSC motorcycle. Maybe it's a cyclevisions Road Rod Conversion? I'm confused.
