Default Shock lowering options

Anyone experiment with the custom drop shock or purchased from this site?

http://bitchinbaggers.com/products/drop-shocks/

the idea of lowing my EGC down an inch or so sounds enticing to me but I am worried about ride comfort and the possibility of bottoming out. I was going to try a 12” shocks and change the oil in the shocks to 7.5 wt oil. But the cost of the 12" shocks and oil and time could add up and since this could be a chance that I accomplished lowering a tad and improving the ride myself, as compared to Bitchin Bikers that has been at this much longer than I have.
Just hoping to get some feedback from those who did there own verses the professionally dropped shock, or who tried both.

The lower to go the stiffer the ride... 1" drop shouldn't make to mush differance and you can find -1" shocks on E-Bay

I have been watching eBay lately and they seem to go for about $100. I am trying to decide weather or not to take the chance and do it myself or send mine in to BB to be shortened. The web site gives you a calculating page where you can figure out how much shorter you can go for your riding traits. I would hate to spend the money for used shocks, replacing the oil, and the time changing the shocks out to find I out I did not end up with results I was looking for. The price to custom shorten, and shipping cost would be a bit higher than buying 12” shocks but I hope to achieve what I wanted in the first place: Lowering without loosing ride comfort. I also did read somewhere the 12” shocks would only lower the 06’s ½ inch...

This is on my list of things to do. I am going to try his shocks out and keep my originals in case i dont like them. I spoke with him on the phone one day and he was very helpful.

I know of a guy that has an 02 Glide with the 12" shocks. He wants to change to the 13" and I may just trade him. They should be interchangable. If that doesn't work out I could sell them on eBay, but to buy the shocks from BB is pretty steep. I would rather send him mine to be done.

You might want to consider lowering blocks. I put a set of Pingels on mine lowered it about an inch and did not affect the ride. got over 9,000 mi on them. Pingels are made of billet steel not alum. www.pingelonline
