Default New 09, Power or Chrome upgrade first?

getting an 09 Ultra in two weeks, been searching and making my wish lists for Engine and Chrome upgrades. Thinking I should do the Motor first then the chrome/paint, what do you guys think.

Engine first. Then you only have to break in one time. Thats what I do. Chrome things that I can not do like chrome lowers I also let the dealer do at the same time. The rest of the stuff I do over time or at one of the service intervals.

Ride it for a while. Maybe with the new gearing in the 09 you won't feel the need for any power upgrades right away. That is more money to spend on comfort and bling.

I went ape sh*t on engine upgrades, and my next bike Im gonna keep stock and just get pipes for. IMO, its not worth the money. Theyre plenty powerful stock.

Even so, I agree..... ride the bike first and see what your needs are, before you start spending the dough. My experience, fwiw, is what I start out wanting and end up needing are 2 different things.

Keep the engine stock and go with the bling for now. There is not a heck of a lot of engine upgrades available for the 09's yet. Dont waste the $ and do stuff twice.

Right on blueflht!
In my opinion:
Comfort first (seat, handlebars, backrest, etc.), if you not comfortable on a ride, your bike handeling will certainely suffer.
Motor/handleing upgrades next.
After your comfortable, engines running good, go for the chrome - of course you can always add small pieces as you go!

Throw some chrome on it. Keep your warranty for awhile.
