Default Broke inner fairing repair?

How would someone go about repairing a portion of an inner fairing that is cracked. The crack goes all the way through, just above where the speaker mounts on a road glide inner. Any thoughts? Thanks

+1. But you might want to do some practicing on some scrap things before you do it. It's not that easy to make fiberglass repairs look right, at least not for me.

just go easy on the hardener. sand the crack to give an adhesion spot then lay down some resin soaked glass. its tough to work with but use gloves and smooth it out. let dry mask up and sand in a well VENTILATED area. its really not that hard

I would take it off and take it to a body shop, It probably wouldn't cost that much to have them do the repair and paint, but I would definitely do the R&R.

How did it crack? Might want to address that first as it would be a shame to have it happen again.

remember glide half the joy of owning a hd is the pride of doing the repairs yourself and learning how the scoot works. knowing the labor done was a labor of love!

Agreed...but if you are going to send it out for someone else to paint why not have them do the repair as well? Besides, a little fiberglass and paint doesn't have a lot to do with the way the scoot works. I would however, not let the body guys take off the fairing, good time to check all the mounts and do a general inspection.
