The Jiffy Stand is the best of any bike I've ever owned or ridden. It's strong too and can take me and my SO without a problem. It's about the last thing you should worry about unless you forget to put it down when parking or up when taking off.
My dad yelled three times at me that my bike was going to fall over when i was parking it to wash it. after the third time I pulled far ahead to a completely flat area, slapped that stand down, got off pissed and said "See!!!! its ****ing fine!!!!!!"
You would have looked pretty funny if the damn thing hadn't locked and the the bike slowly crumpled to the ground.
Had that happen once. Kicked the stand down, leaned bike on to it, the stand kicked back up, and I said, "Oh, ****!" as it was too late the bike was way past the point where I could hold it.
People that have never owned a HD before freak out when they see it roll forward, or how it looks like it is just about to swing up. If the dog is in the slot, it isn't going to fall
You would think after all this time they would put out a more reliable version.
why fix something that isn't broken. the jiffy stand is one of the things that really doesn't need 'upgrading'. the epa doesn't have a beef with it, so hd doesn't need to do anything to it.
Anyone who has much ride time on a HD trusts the kickstand. Riders who come over from other brands have a little anxiety at first. Personally, never seen one fail.
