When I first got my bike it freaked me out how far the bike kept going over, even after the kickstand hit the ground. Got used to it and think it's kinda cool now.
I saw a tech at the dealer slide an Ultra across the garage floor on the stand.
He said it was designed to do it forwards or backwards as long as it's in the slot and loaded.

is there a way to adjust it so that the bike DON'T flop forward?

I have never had a HD flop forward, unless it was an extreme down hill (softails & RK)

but my 08 Ultra, you get off, you turn to talk to someone, and out of the corner of your eye.....you see that thing trying to sneak away....

scares the crap outta ya....whooo.

i finally just started holding on to it, till it finished rolling forward a few inches, then go about my business.

i hate parking in gear, like to be able to warm it up while getting gear on.

Of course you trust your kickstand (jiffy stand). It works perfectly. I've never heard of an improved version. I have seen some nice custom versions. Some people will customize anything.

I guess I trust it but I sure don't like the backwards angle it takes when parked on any kind of gentle nose down slope. I really wish it would swing further forward so it would be at right angles to the bike when loaded.

Default Jiffy

Hey Doc

I rode metric for years and the day I moved up to my Ultra, my dealer scared the
**** out of me, ya see he was showing me stuff while I was leaning across the bike and
he rolled that hog about four inches forward on the asphalt. Now as my Heart hit the pavement he said "I Love doing that to guys". And a new bond was formed, I've had no issue with the jiffy except a faulty spring.

When I got the 2007 I didn't trust the way it moved slightly when on an incline (nose down). But, others had said the new design (I don't remember when it came out) locks it and there are no worries.

I realized how much I trusted it when I was leading a group in to the parking lot of the Durango, CO HD shop. I pulled in to the sloped section of their lot. Everyone else, like lemmings jumping off a cliff, naturally followed me. But, when trying to actually park everyone realized they couldn't on that slope (again nose down). So they all had to re-locate - leaving me the only one parked in the original spot.

Trust mine... It has to roll forward to engage the lock!

I found it a little disconcerting on my first Harley, but 3 bikes later I'm used to it!
