I use that HD jiffy stand plate everywhere I go. I am really nervous of those little gremlins getting to the bike and causing the bike to sink into what surface I am on. I attached a cord to the plate and keep it in my saddlebag pouch that attaches to the front saddlebag crash guard. Better to be safe than sorry.

In the garage yes (I use a poly building shim) but everywhere else, I don't think so. I think thats a little too much.

I keep one in my left lower fairing pocket to use when the ground is soft. It is magnetic so you can also place it under your gas tank or anywhere metal. I tied a peice of line to mine and pick it up and place it in the fairing when I leave, Works great

Keep on in the lower fairing box. Use it whenever I park on hot blacktop or bare ground. I watched as my friend said he didn't need one on blacktop once...2 hours later, his kickstand was over 1/2 inch below grade...Bike nearly fell over. He always has one now lol

Grass and hot asphalt are the only places I have used mine so far. No cord or any other retrieval method, although I do think that that would be a good idea, I just don't use mine much.

I just carry my bike in my pocket. Take it out when in a crowd. Start it up, then put it back in my pocket (after it cools off of course). I do wear azzless chaps and fingerless gloves and have lots of fringe just for the occassion too.
