I tried to use the Cb on a 07 Ultra classic with little luck. It works great transmitting but only receives if I leave the squelch open which gets annoying to listen to. I read the owners manual but it doesn't mention anything about how to possibly fix the problem.
The only thing I can think of is perhaps the squelch is set too high. In the setup mode, about 3 or 4 bars of squelch should be enough. Any more than that you'd only get a really strong signal breaking the squelch. I open my squelch until I hear static, and then advance the squelch until the static just stops breaking through. If that doesn't do it, talk to the dealer.
Since it transmits okay, it wouldn't be an antenna problem. The only other thing it could be, and unlikely, is that the shielding of the coaxial cable isn't grounded. That can permit higher levels of interference to intrude upon the reception. Hmmmm.
I will be visiting the dealer tomorrow as the squelch has to be turned on the way down to Open (no bars showing). I tired it on 1 bar all the way up to the max with it only working on Open (weakest).
I appreciate your help but it sounds like the dealer might be my only help. I will give a update once it receives signals.
