has any one installed driving lites on the upper or lower crash bars. if so what kind ? brand name and how many watts. i like riding at nite, but i cant see chit when traffic is coming at ya. i upgraded the bulbs in the head lites,it helps a bit,not much. thanks JOHN
All kinds of options out there. I have not put any on yet, but am also looking to do so. Kuryakin (sp) has a very nice set that is part of/replacement for the turn signals. Looks pretty darn sharp, but does cost a pretty penny too. Moto lights (I think) makes a nice caliper mounted one that is also pretty nice, just saw a RG on the road yesterday that had the moto lights on it and it looked pretty good and quite visible. As far a mounting on the crash bars, that is not an option for me as I have the lower fairings on and don't want to modify them to mount lights. Do a search on the forum as well as the web, I think there have already been a couple of threads on this topic. Keep us updated as to what you find.

Note trying to hijack this thread, but do you have vented lowers or non-vented? If non-vented, aren't they too hot to leave on in the summer?

Actually, you are trying to hijack this thread.
Instead of driving lights, try the "Euro" headlight upgrade. Do a search, several threads complete with part numbers. BIG difference. I was considering driving lights, but don't need them now.
The Kuryakyn set up looks the best, but as Marvincbr said, they are a little pricey. I think I'm going to add them as the budget allows. Damn whitetail deer are starting to run wild this time of year and I need all the light I can get to keep them in sight.
I will probably do the Kuryakyn light set-up in the winter. I am not worried about the cost as my buddy is a dealer and I pay what he pays. I want extra driving lights so just doing the Euro mod would not be enough.
I used Kury large halogen "silver bullets" mounted on the engine guard. Am told they show at a pretty good distance. I have them pointed out a tad to light up the sides of the road.
Moto-Lites are over 300 bucks, I think. My silver bullets and mounts ran well under 200. The wires hide inside the engine guard and the lights are switched through the left acc. switch on my RKC. I think you have an empty switch on the RG, if not, it shouldn't be to hard to put one on.
how do the lites work on the road,as far as seeing any better in front of you. i can see fine if no body is coming from the other direction, once a car is coming at me i cant see chit. i hit a racoone about 3 months ago in the dark, scared the chit out of me.
