I am going to post all the part numbers tomorrow for my build. I have misplaced my copy of the parts but will go get them from my dealer in the morning. The heads are high flow SE and I am not sure which 103 kit but it sounds like it was the HO one. I am also not sure about the difference in the 255 vs the 258. Maybe some of the other guys can help out. I will tell you that the mechanic who did the build also tuned it. (Jim at Curleys in Winston Salem, NC) He started using a new tool that lets him set the throttle exactly at the 2%, 5%, 10%.... mark so that it is the same every time. He got this thing right on the mark. I will post the DYNO sheet, parts list and some pictures in the morning. The only thing I can say about the D&D Fat Kat is....... Thunder WHO????? I have been converted.
I found my work order so here are the main parts...
16952-08 Kit, Cylinder Heads, Blac
18402-03 Perfect Fit Pushrod Kit
25474-06 SE 258 Cam Kit
255-028 D&D Fat Cat 2/1 Quiet Baffle
27539-08 1690 ST 1 08 FLH Black
32076-04 Kit Compression Release
32109-08 SE Pro Tuner Kit
Misc gasket kits, hose clamp, oil filter, oil.
If I subtract the Danny Gray Seat (I replaced this with a Corbin in Milwaukee) and the docking hardware for my pasanger back rest and luggage rack from the total bill, it cost me $4150.58 including labor for the build.
How's the Fatcat with the quiet baffle, volume-wise?
CN
I had a Thunder Header 2/1 on my last bike and loved the sound. I was afraid the D&D was not going to be enough for me volume wise. I went with it for performance reasons and the sound with the quiet baffles is great. It has a good rumble at cruize but when you crack that throttle it is an awsome sound. Of course my build has some to do with that but I can honestly say that I love it and I never thought I would do anything but Thunder Header.
I was just looking in the 2009 P&A book and couldn't find those part #'s. Is there a separate screaming eagle catalog? There must be, I didn't even see heads for my 07. Got me thinking of doing engine mods this winter and saving the sound upgrade till next winter.
