Default Tour box lock

I had the dealer install the tour pack but the lock was on back order. Well, I finally got it. I just had the dealer ship it to me and I will install it myself. Dealer is 150 miles away.

Has anyone installed one of these? It looks like a no-brainer except there is a small circular wire that I can't figure out were it goes.

A little help please!
Thank you

Or, could someone look at theirs and see if they can tell were the round circular wire goes?

Thanks!

Clip holds the lock in place, just look at the lock after you get it in the pak and you will see where the clip goes.

Looked at mine on a 02 Ultra. Did not see any round circular wire unless it was UNDER the black plastic washer next to the lid. It might be there. I don't think it's really all that important. Just fix it where it will lock the lid and you should be in business.

I opened the package and look a little closer at it and it is a small flat washer. You are right it goes under the black nut.

Thanks alot!

I just installed one for the wife 2 months ago. Pretty easy, and straight forward on the leather covered tour paks. I recommend replacing the plastic rivet/screw combos on the back edge plate with real hardware. I have had 4 of them work lose, then I lock tited them.

Pretty simple install, just study it you will figure it out. I don't remember a wire? I did the saddlebags, the tourpack, and the glove boxes on the lowers.

I have removed and reinstalled the lock on my TP a couple of times for paint/lid replacement and don't recall any wire of any kind.
