I had the dealer install the tour pack but the lock was on back order. Well, I finally got it. I just had the dealer ship it to me and I will install it myself. Dealer is 150 miles away.
Has anyone installed one of these? It looks like a no-brainer except there is a small circular wire that I can't figure out were it goes.
Looked at mine on a 02 Ultra. Did not see any round circular wire unless it was UNDER the black plastic washer next to the lid. It might be there. I don't think it's really all that important. Just fix it where it will lock the lid and you should be in business.
I just installed one for the wife 2 months ago. Pretty easy, and straight forward on the leather covered tour paks. I recommend replacing the plastic rivet/screw combos on the back edge plate with real hardware. I have had 4 of them work lose, then I lock tited them.
Pretty simple install, just study it you will figure it out. I don't remember a wire? I did the saddlebags, the tourpack, and the glove boxes on the lowers.
