Lately I'm fixated on getting a set of bag extensions and trying to work out what is a reasonable approach to such, from a quality work and cost perspective. I'm in DFW and have gotten a quote from Strokers here locally using Arlen Ness extensions, removing and replacing the hardware and paint of both bags. Pretty steep at around $2K but if I price the entire bag's ready for paint and using my own lids and hardware seems to be about the same. The extensions I have my eye on are the BadDad 2" extensions that align perfectly with the FLHX fear fender, and just come over the top or top 1/4 of the pipe, vs full 4" coverage. To me they look real clean on a SG. They have a SG on their web site showing it with these. I'd appreciate any pics from those who have them, feedback on quality of your selection, and general ideas regarding reasonable pricing to get the whole thing done.
Thanks!
There is another member here locally that installed the 2" BadDad extensions. We had a professional do the work and come to find out the seam will be seen when completed. It is not noticible as soon as the first layer of dust hits it. It was confirmed with BadDad that this is normal? If you two-tone or pinstripe then you could mask the line. Pm and I can give you further info.
I'm sure I'm not the first one but - has anyone looked at jsut buying a set of the lower extensions off a 2009 CVO RoadGlide?
They look pretty good to me and might be a little less $$
just curious

I'd do that in a heartbeat, factory painted, if they were available. As of now, I don't believe you can buy just the extensions

Sent you a PM Boarguard. Ft Worth area here also. I was thinking about doing the extensions in black but not sure how that would look and also don't know how I would match the denim paint texture.

I'm sure those will be a VIN restricted part. Similar to what HD did with the SG rear facia when the SG came out.
