Default Towing vs. Trailering question

I have a '98 Ultra and have a bit of a problem! Hope someone here can help! My wife and i love to both ride and camp. Some of the places we camp are great places to ride. We would like to take the bike when we camp. I drive a 3/4 ton Chevy long bed pickup, and tow a 23 foot camper. Which would be better, loading the bike into the pickup, or towing behind the camper. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best method of loading into the truck, or towing? any information or suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

What is the reccomended towing capacity? You will be towing two independant items, making for a long trail. While not always the best idea, it might be easier to get a ramp and haul the bike in the bed of the truck.

You ride the bike and let the wife tow the camper. Just kidding with you! I have seen them on the road, a truck pulling a camper and then a motorcycle trailer. I bet backing them up would be a real challenge.

Bike in the truck. One quick swerve on the highway and the stuff starts moving back and forth and you wont know it. Until your bike trailer goes in the ditch. There are too many good truck-bed set-ups to take such a risk.

Also, when it comes time to back up, which might be one wrong turn, which I'm sure has happen to you if you haul a camper around, and now you have to turn two trailers around. Blahhhhhh.................

I think to tow two trailers you need a truck driver endorsement and the front trailer has to be a 5th wheel.

Friend of mine tried the trailer/trailer thing. Said it $ucked. Then got a ramp and loaded the bike in the truck and pulled the camper. Said that $ucked too, had to unhook to get the bike out. So then he traded his camper in on a toy hauler camper. Seems to be the way to go, wife and I have been looking at them.

Sell the camper, put a hitch on the bike, and buy a towable motorcycle camper. Stay in campground with nice bathroom facilities.

I have been doing it for a couple of years, and it saves huge on hotel rooms, and keeps ya on 2 wheels

You would have to do a lot of camping and r/v rentals to justify another 33k for a Toy Hauler, they are quite trick, don't think I would trust my harley behind a trailer on a trailer either.

But if your in the market, here's a link..
