I was at a staff meeting today and found out that there is a problem with our Harley Police bikes. I'm not sure if it's 2007 or 2008. But there is a safety concern so bad that Harley is taking the bikes back and replacing them at NO CHARGE. Of coarse Harley is not admitting to a problem.
I'm trying to find out exactly what the complaint is that is so serious that they are replacing them. I'll post as soon as I find out.
We had ours recalled for the fuel pump recall but not complete replacement. You sure yours were being completely replaced and just not the faulty part fixed.
a good friend just bought a 07 Police bike here in MKE. He is not really into the internet thing so I will have to watch this and give him any info that you guys find out! I would find it hard to believe HD would replace the bikes though?...
Something seems a little fishy here. On the 07's the heads were replaced with '08 heads and pressure relief valves. Also, there was an electrical contact fix of some sort and a few other recalls. All the recalls are posted on a web site (I don't remember the address). It would be bankruptcy for HD if there were a danger so significant that bike REPLACEMENT had to be made AND the info was held secret! HD may mean hundred dollars but a crook or killer they are not.

Can you let me know when you find out- We have three 08's in our fleet, mine being one of them. Thanks, Jim
