Default What fluid do you run in your primary?

What fluid do you run in your primary. Can I run Auto Transmission Fluid? This is going in a 1985 FLHTC.

YES, ATF is just dandy in the primary and cheaper too.

Baker recommends Dex III / Merc ATF, as does Primo-Rivera. Works fine for me.

With stock clutches, the new "Formula" primary oil from HD is fine and realitively inexpensive.

I go down to the local chicken shack and get all the week old frying oil they got. Works just fine. Now if only the dogs in the neighborhood would stop following me around...

Seriously HD Formula + or any good 10w-40 motor oil is just fine too, and no dogs....

A synthetic is just a waste of $$$$
