Hogtunes Help needed
In the middle of taking off the fairing And can only find 2 of the 4 inner screws. I found the outer screws on the inner fairing but do not know where the other 2 are. Thanks in advance
Yep. What they said. Picture where the bottom of the headlight is then go down a few inches and a few inches to the outside.
Turning the handlebars all the way is the only way to get to them.

Thanks guys! A wire with a plug was hiding it on the left side where I looked first. Install was quick. Factory only uses three screws to hold the speakers in place.
Not a huge difference with just the speakers. Has a little more bass so you get to turn the bass down some on the head unit. So you are not clipping the amp as early. Worth the hundred bucks. I think I might get the the amp from Hogtunes also.

Go the extra step and get the amp too...you won't regret it. I always buy the complete system to install the speakers on the tourpack too ( detachable or not) Done 7 bikes like this. Really nice surround sound. With the rear speakers plugged in, the amp is driving the front, radio's amp driving the back. When unplugged the amp is driving the only the fronts.

I added the four Hogtune speakers a while back and then started riding w/o the tour pac.
Talked to Pez last week, added the amp and lower fairing speakers. Now with the four up front, sounds great, put the tour pac on and it just gets better.

I went to Hogtunes web site and it did not show anything about just the amp. I have a 09 SG and do not plan on adding more speakers. Do they sell just the amp for the front two speakers and would adding just the amp change much?
The amp is not on the website as a single item, but if you call Pez he'll sell it to you for $217 (including shipping), or at least that's what it cost me last spring. The amp boosts bass 10db plus another 3db (switchable from -3, 0, and +3) if desired over the entire frequency spectrum. This is good because the HT amp only takes the signal from the stock head unit and makes its changes. Thus, if you are distorting from the head unit you'll be distorting with the HT amp too. The good news is that the signal boost allows you to turn the volume down on the head unit to achieve the same effective volume at the speakers, so distortion occurs at a higher db level than before. I would say the amp is easily worth the $217 price tag. In fact, one day while the outer fairing was off I re-routed the wiring to bypass the amp, and I found the sound to be weak and unacceptable. The amp and speakers will spoil you, although the combo won't make your HK stereo sound like a high-end system in your den. For about $300 (speakers and amp) I would say it is a worthwhile upgrade.
I'm considering adding the lower-fairing speakers, but to date have not seen much if any feedback on this option compared to only the fairing speakers with the amp. This option is about $200 and I would expect a meaningful quality upgrade over what I already have for this investment.
