I have an '04 Ultra Classic and the cruise control (CC) is experiencing some problems: While running above minimum speed with the CC console switch in the "ON" position, when I attempt to activate the CC via the handle bar toggle button, the CC will not engage. The light will be illiuminated RED but CC will not engage. The only pattern is, after I toggle the console switch two times or so, the CC can then be activated via the handlebar switch.
If I disengage the CC via the brakes, or throttle, while the bike continues to run, the CC will not re-engage nor will it resume to set speed.
If the ignition switch is off and the CC selector switch is in the "ON" position, and then the bike is started, the indicator light in the tachometer will illuminate GREEN! Even at zero speed. If I briefly toggle the handlebar switch, then the light will return to RED, but when I achieve speed above minimum, the CC will not engage.
Does anyone have any experience with this problem?
