Lost Power
I went to pass a car today and the engine lost power. Would only make about 2000 rpms. Some sort of failsafe i guess. Could have killed me tho as i was side by side with the car when it happened. I pulled over, shut off the bike and restarted it. No more problems??? WTF??

just realized it went into the "limp home" mode. Don't know why it would have gone into it. I don't know the rpms and i was in 5th gear doing about 55-60 and pushed the rpms to pass the guy, but it wasn't enough to redline. Fuel canister was done about 2000 miles ago.
Allot of the issues with the 08's fuel managment system has been cleared up with the latest map AND repair to the connector under your seat. Mine went with 2 days of ownership. H-D was just slapping them together and not securing them the right way AND causing damage to the pins.
This is what the GM of my dealer told me when I went off on him and pressed him for info. He HATES returns. It must take away from his bonus or something. I'm not saying that's your issue but it certainly can be. Check the large connector under your seat. The gray one. You'll see what I mean when you get under there. BTW-the o9's are the same but the "tray" sits lower in the frame rails so there is no was to wiggle that connection loose because some type of seats actually rests on top of it.
