Got my new HOGTUNE speakers, gonna install this week. Question is I got a buddy with a 2001 Ultra with bad front speaker. Will my new 2006 Harmon-Kardon radio speakers work in his 01? He's got one going bad.

I am thinking that they will not work too well. The 2001 speakers are 4 ohm or 8 ohm if I am not mistaken, and the 2006's are 2 ohm. I have no idea what this all means for sure, but there has been a lot of talk here about the old HOGTUNES not working on the 2006 bikes, so I would guess that the new speakers will not work on old bikes.

You "CAN" put the 2 ohmers in off the factory radio--the radio will make no more than 13 watts per channel in this config (*our own lab tests), and the cost of replacement fuses will soon outweigh the cost of the speakers...........
IMHO--HD should have changed the wire connectors for the 06 speakers just to make sure guys dont do this..........
