Default Stage 1

Hello, newbie here,

Purchased a 2003 Roadking Classic that has a 2 into 1 Thunderheader exhaust on it already, no other engine mods, fuel injected. What is recommended to complete stage 1 modifications. The choices & makes are many and somewhat confusing as I have not done this before. Also there will be no future mods to this motor.

Thanks for your help.

Stage 1 would be pipes, air cleaner and a down load for the ECM or an after market fuel management system.

If you go with a AC, I would recommend the Arlen Ness Big Sucker.

Also, I believe that a dyno tune is the best way to get your bike dialed in 100%. Using a SERT is the best IMO.

There are several tuners available: Power Commander, V&H fuelpak, etc. They are add-on units.

The Screaming Eagle Race Tuner (SERT) allows a dyno tech. to tune your stock ECM and increase the fuel delivery past what is allowed for street legal. The HD download is EPA legal and too lean IMO.

JMO here.

Hey bopper, just a side note, I'm curious what you've found on the 03 RKC, since you said you just got one. I had one that was totaled recently after a lady hit me, and I'm looking at some other ones to replace it. You can pm me if you want, I'm just curious what you saw out there in the market when you bought that one, if ya don't mind... Mine was pretty low mile 6k mi or so. w/ the two tone blk/silver
