Okay, I'm hooked on working and fiddling and cleaning and upgrading the bike. I had two rainy days off and spent most in the garage on the floor and scooting around on my knees. Bottom line is I need to get the bike up off the floor to work on it. I have the yellow Craftsman Jack, but it really doesn't go high enough, and frankly it doesn't seem really safe for long periods of time. I also pray each time I let the jack down-- hoping the bike won't fall... No I don't strap it on... would that really help?
At any rate, how about some ideas about a lift that is reasonable for home use... I don't know if a crank will work for me... 6 back surgeries and expect the 7th this Winter. Hydraulic? Electric? I do have a decent air compressor for construction work (it's portable two tanks)... Suggestions, prices, and pictures welcome.
A freind of mine has one and it's pretty nice. I really want one but really pressed for room (single car garage). I use the Craftsman yellow for now. I'll try and find the review on it. It shows a plug but in the discription says foot pump or air. They usually have them in the stores.
Ok, thanks for any help. Greatly appreciated. Is it necessary to strap it down? Can you leave it up for long periods of time... days (while in the middle of a project?)
