Question stage one download

Has anyone ever tried using a map for say the ES stage 1 A/C + SEtouring pipes for a bike that just has the Air cleaner changed to SE? I like my pipes the way they are, especially for $400. But I keep hearing a common complaint that the bike is running lean after download. I was wondering if the download for A/C and pipes both would be a bit richer than the download for just the A/C.

without pipes your bike doesn't have a demand for more air or fuel so I would say dont do the download unless its to change the rev limiter. the way the map works is it tells the fuel injectors to either send more or less fuel to the chambers for ignition so if the need for more isnt there ie... pipes then why send it. and putting a/c on a bike that isnt asking for it ie..one without pipes doesnt really make sense..

emperor you have it backwards. by installing the s/e a/c you add more air to the mixture causing a lean and a very hot running engine. adding the download it richens the mixture to compesate. pipes with no a/c change are fine without a download. if this is all you want from your motor a stage 1 download is fine. did it to mine with no issues at all
cost 150$ for the download and 1/2 hr labor to install

Thanks for the help I have about 6K on my roadglide and have noticed the pipes getting quite a bit louder just from use. I am guessing the packing is getting worn a bit
