Smile Adjustable wind deflectors

I have a 08 Ultra Classic. They come with the fairing-mounted adjustable wind deflectors. When the deflectors are closed and my wife on the back with her fringed leather jacket, the fringe blows and hits her in the face. I was just wondering if this happens to other passengers. Any suggestions to help cure this problem would be appreciated. We both wear half helmets, so full faced helmets is out of the question.
Thanks and GOD BLESS...

Cut it, New jacket, bolt on a sheet of Plexiglass. Too many things affect the wind on a bike to have a general answer for that question. Best to tackle the problem which is the fringe. Then tackle the ol lady. Could tie or braid several strands of the fringe together to make them less likely to flap around and still look good.
