I guess if you plan on not dropping your bike, all they would be are extra load. but since I am in the process of training on handling my 07 RKC as the motor officer whipe theirs bike around and on occasion while doing 18' circle and turns and lean too far and I go down leaving them on eliminates extra damage that one sustain. A chapter member took his off and then joined our practice sessions and never attempt any of the moves we were doing. the result, well good thing he had a "platnium" card to cover the damage on the this bike. It is pretty sight when you drop a bagger without those guards. Just my 02 cents.

I just had a Kuryakyn engine guard delivered for my FLHRS, so the stock one is coming off this weekend. If any of you guys that keep dropping your bikes need a fresh guard, PM me.

I crashed early this past spring and all thoughts of removing them are now gone. They saved my leg which would have been crushed if not for the bars.
