Very nice looking bike but I REALLY like my legs and the paint on the bike. I like to think that if things get stupid, the bars might save both. YMMV

Cheers, geeded

The bars only work at slow speeds, trust me if you are tooling down the road and something goes bad, the bars aren't going to do much.

I'm new to touring bikes but have riden Softails & Dynas for years without bars. Touring bikers seem to think you are flirting with disaster if you don't have bars. Why are they more important on tourers than the other models? Not!
I've already taken off the bag bars and the front crash bars are next.

Most people drop their bikes while sitting still or moving at slow speeds and that SOB is heavy if you don't have guards to stop it much less the damage done to the tank, bags, and fairing. I must admit the scoots look better without them but your going to drop it sooner or later.

It's your ride, do what you want. However, I for one will have no sympathy for your whine if you happen to drop it or go down at low speed.
Ya pays yer money, and ya takes yer chances.

I don't believe you're going to drop it sooner or later. That's a defeatist attitude. Learning to ride before you get a big bike is the answer. That's what Honda's are for.
