Well when you get them on tell me how they sound and if you like them.
I got them on...they sound great. They have a nice deep growl, but are not overly loud. I was concerned about that because I did not want to have my eardrums bleeding on long rides. They'll still **** off your neighbors in the morning if you ride to work, but they definitely will not wake the dead. I ran out on a little 80 mile loop right after I installed them last night. Couldn't be more pleased.
I had listened to them on the V&H website and I think they sound better. There is a guy that I see all the time on my ride home from work and he has pipes that sound like somebody farting on a wooden chair. I have always tried to spy what he has on his bike so I could stay away from those. I do believe I was successful.
The moral of the story? Nice price, great sound, not too loud, but not too quiet. I am very happy.
I have a 2007 Ultra glide and was wanting to know if anyone had the basic Vance and Hines slip on mufflers? If so how do you like them? I am looking at them for my bike. The stock mufflers have got to go. I am looking for something a little more louder for the bike. I don't want it to be deafning.
I have Vance & Hines Basic slip ons on my 08 Ultra Classic.. Put them on at 1000 miles and have 8000 miles now. Also did the A Ness Big Sucker air cleaner and PCIII.. Had the bike dyno tuned and pulled very good HP and Torque numbers. To tell the truth they are getting a bit loud but I think it is worth it for the good Harley sound..They have gotten a little louder as I put the miles on.. I am going to a 103 Big Bore with Screamin Eagle cams this Friday.. The kit comes with Screamin Eagle pipes but I think I am going to leave the Vance & Hines pipes on since they are making such good power..
I have V & H basic slip ons on my 95 FLHTP. I highly recommend them they look great and sound great. Quiet enough not to wake the neighbors and loud and deep tone when you gun it. I just wish they made them for the 09's. I'd buy another set today.
