New Here. got a 07 SG. Just ordered some pipes, fuel-pak, Air cleaner. What else can I do to increase the power, DIY, without breaking the bank. The sales guy suggested cams??
Last time I had a Fuelpak they didn't allow for a cam change. I'm not sure if V&H changed yet or not. However, if they still don't allow for a cam change and you get a PCIII or some other tuner, then a good bolt in cam will be a nice upgrade for power. I use Redshift 575's which is a bolt in for the 96" and I'm happy so far with them.
I just had my 07 bike rebuilt with the cast flat top pistons and Andrews 54h cams made a huge difference with torque and power. It will need dyno time now as theres no canned maps for the Sert with these cams. If I had to choose again I would have brought a Tmax with auto tune and saved dollars on the dyno tune
Just put cams in with fuel pak already installed before this. Called Adam at V&H and he said that it should be fine. The bike actually runs better than it did before. No cough anymore between gears. Go for it. Cams were not that hard. Shimming was the part that I was not aware of. That is why I had a mechanic there to ask questions.
Change your gearing in the primary. If this is new to you use the service manual. Change the compensator sproket and clutch basket.
Will this slow me down in first gear? I live in the hills on gravel and would like to get a solution for this. Over all rpm's will be higher i'm sure but that I don't care. Tried to post this problem twice elsewhere but have not gotten anyplace.
evoindustries makes a primary sprocket and chain kit and it uses stock clutch basket only change compensator and chain pretty easy its equevalent to about 10ft#of tourqe

Makes first gear quicker....I have the EVO 30 tooth in my 08
Thanks much to both of you !! I'll check into it. Sounds like an easy fix. Would you suggest I change ratios before exaust and intake work? Either way i want her to breath easier also for performance. Sorry I didn't mean to hijack this thread. I believe we both are trying to do the same thing!
