Unless you had knowledge of this happening before your recall work, I'd just take it back to the shop that did the recall and explain the problem and let them correct it. I sure would not pay unless I knew the problem was unrelated to the recall work.

Good idea. I'll let them think they caused the problem which is entirely possible.

maybe a bad connection (electrical ) at one or both injectors. They might not have them plugged in tight . Which would cause a loss of a pulse and no fuel to the cylinder. Just a thought

There are other places power is distributed to/from besides the battery. Check those. Doesn't anyone check DTC's? That $65 "evaluation" is by using the on-board diagnostics you can perform.

"I'll let them think they caused the problem which is entirely possible" And people call them "stealers"...

The symptoms sound very similar to a bad engine temp sensor or maybe a crank or cam position sensor. A tech with a scanalyzer can check the sensor values quickly. The $65 diagnostic fee doesn't sound too bad, considering what it would cost to replace any one of the sensors. If it helps get the problem fixed the first time, it's money well spent. But before it goes to the dealer for testing, look over the Troubleshooting section of the service manual and do some wire jiggling and connector inspections. May find the problem there.

robzuc, This is the same dealer that wanted to charge $380 to change the injectors until he found out we knew about the warranty coverage.

Did you both fill up fuel at the same gas station before you left? If not, maybe he got some bad gas. Or maybe the gas cap isn't sealing properly?

Does your tack jump around when this happens? Usually electrical, check your system relay doesn't have any corrosion on it.

I've had the same thing happen with my 07, but when mine does it the speedo drops also, not from deceleration more like the power was cut off momentarily.
When it does this I can pull over, shut the bike off for a few seconds then re-start it and it will run fine.
